Gloria Oliver’s latest YA offering from Hardshell Word Factory, Cross Eyed Dragon Troubles, has hit the number six best-seller spot on the top indie ebook retailer website, Fictionwise.com. A fast-paced fantatsy about a girl persuaded to join a guild of knights, the novel was released by Hardshell in February. Gloria Oliver is also the author of Zumaya Publication’s recent YA fantasy, Willing Sacrifice.

Another sequel available this month is Don’t Tell Mother about psychic teen, AJ Dawson and her endless life struggles. Tagged as Whispers Book 2, it follows Tara West’s last YA outing and is available now from The Wild Rose Press.

Margaret Pearce has completed the second book in The Altar of Shulaani series, The Cave of Dreaming. It follows Mike and Alinea and Beeper (an alien) as they battle monsters and bureaucracy in an intergalactic journey through time and space. It’s available now from publisher Writers-Exchange and third-party online retailers. .

Among a flood of holiday ebook releases from major publishers is Cataclysm, a new young adult novel from ebooksonthe.net. Evidence of Atlantis is discovered at an Egyption archeological site in the book by Patricia Keiller (Gateway, Phantasm, Hibernator). It’s available now.

At the begining of the month we announced a couple of Wings ePress’s YA titles for October, but apparently we missed one. The publisher has also put The Knave of Diamonds by Roberta Olsen Major in the YA section of Fictionwise. In it, Prince Jacot must embark on a dangerous journey to save his mother’s life. Olsen Major has published more than a dozen novels with Wings ePress.

Susan Smith Alvis has raised quite the storm with her first work of YA fiction, Friends Unlikely. The title quickly became an ebook bestseller and rose to the top of electronic retailer Fictionwise’s list of top-rated teen novels. Alvis has launched an ‘online’ book tour and there are already rave reviews on the internet. There’s also a very good chance it will enter the 2008 circle of finalists in the hotly competed EPPIE awards. Continue Reading »

Lachesis Publishing, the Canadian imprint and new owner of LBF Books, has announced their first work of YA Fiction: The Goblin Princess by Keith Gouveia, author of several dark fantasy and horror novels with publishers such as Carnifex Press and Coscom. The release date is TBA.

Linking the gap between the hit British horror film, 28 Days Later, and its sequel, 28 Weeks Later (coming to US theatres soon), this graphic novel takes us through a virus-infected London through the eyes of four survivers. The work is written by Steve Niles (30 Days of Night) and published by HarperCollins.
